2015 Summer Baseball Sign Up

During the summer, the Carbondale Recreation Commission will conduct a summer ball program. As in the past, Carbondale will be in the Flint Hills Baseball/Softball League which includes Appanoose, Auburn, Burlingame, Eskridge, Harveyville, Lyndon, North Lyon County, Overbrook, Osage City, Scranton, and Pomona (West Franklin). In the Flint Hills League, boys play baseball (hardball) and girls play “fast pitch” softball. Teams in the league are broken down by age groups as follows:

T-BALL:

3-4 (as of May 1) Co-Rec T-Ball (Games played in Carbondale Only)

GIRLS:

5-6 (as of January 1) Girls Novice (MACHINE PITCH)
7-8 (as of January 1) Girls Advanced
9-10 (as of January 1) Girls Midgets
11-12 (as of January 1) “C” Girls
13-15 (as of January 1) “B” Girls
16-18 (as of January 1) “A” Girls NEW LEAGUE

BOYS:

5-6 (as of May 1) Boys Novice (MACHINE PITCH)
7-8 (as of May 1) Boys Advanced
9-10 (as of May 1) Boys Midgets
11-12 (as of May 1) Boys PeeWee
13-15 (as of May 1) Little League
16-18 (as of May 1) Babe Ruth NEW LEAGUE

IT WILL BE THE POLICY OF THE CARBONDALE RECREATION COMMISSION FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS TO COMPETE IN ALL TEAM GAMES.

In order to identify prospective ball players, the attached form has been distributed to all Carbondale students, K-12. The form should be filled out completely and returned with a check for the participation fee. (A valid copy of the birth certificate for each participant who has not previously provided one should be attached.) The participation fee is necessary to cover expenses –– this includes the cost of a team Dri-fit T-shirt and hat/visor.

RETURN YOUR COMPLETED FORM NO LATER THAN APRIL 4.

If additional forms are needed they are available at City Hall during office hours or at the School Office in Carbondale, Overbrook, and Scranton. Please complete one form for each child. We must know the number of Carbondale Teams by this date for scheduling by the league. Turn in your completed form at City Hall during office hours or leave it in the night depository by the City Hall door. Forms can also be mailed to:
