URGENT: Main Street Railroad Crossing Closure

MAIN STREET RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURE

The City of Carbondale has been notified that the Main Street railroad crossing will be closed beginning Thursday, June 25 at 6:00 AM for replacement of the railroad crossing.

The crossing is expected to remain closed until early Saturday morning, June 27, allowing time for construction and asphalt curing before reopening to traffic.

Access to West Hill will be available using the following detour routes:

Route 1:
S. Topeka Avenue → W. 125th Street → S. Jordan Road → Carbondale

Route 2:
S. Topeka Avenue → W.149th Street → S. Jordan Road → W. 141st Street → S. Morrill Road → Main Street

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling through the detour areas.
