Water Service Restored - Boil Water Advisory Still in Effect

7/11/2025

Good Evening Carbondale Residents,

We are very pleased to share some good news: our crews have completed the necessary repairs and water service has been restored to the system.

This major milestone was possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of so many:

  • Carbondale Fire Department

  • Burlingame Fire Department

  • The City of Scranton for providing additional barriers

  • The Carbondale Public Works Department

  • RDR Excavating

  • KDHE, KRWA, KDEM
  • The Osage County Sheriff's Office
  • The City of Overbrook Police Department

And so many more.
To our citizens, your patience and support have meant so much to all involved.

What’s Next:

  • The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect. Please continue to boil any water used for drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before use.

  • Bottled water is still available for residents who need it. Please visit this link for current pickup locations. To help everyone in need, we ask that households limit themselves to two cases if possible.

  • Water tower levels are being closely monitored, and we appreciate everyone continuing to conserve water and use only what is necessary.

At this time, we expect to pause further updates until Monday morning, unless we have new, important information to share. If you do not hear from us, that means things are progressing as planned.

Next week, we will share a dedicated thank you message to properly recognize the many departments, agencies, volunteers, and neighbors who made this work possible and more information as it arrives regarding the Boil Water Advisory.
